About this place

Pura Ulun Danu Beratan

Built in 1633 to honour Dewi Danu, the goddess of water, Ulun Danu Beratan appears to float on the lake when the water is high. Its eleven-tiered meru shrine is one of the most photographed sights in Bali.

The temple grounds include manicured gardens, a small Buddhist stupa, and lakeside paths where you can rent a traditional boat. At 1,200 metres above sea level the air is fresh, so bring a light jacket.
