Tour overview

Sacred Water Purification at Tirta Empul & Ubud Temples

Melukat is a Balinese cleansing ritual performed under holy spring water. On this gentle, meaningful day trip, a local guide explains the offerings and prayers so you can take part respectfully at Tirta Empul, one of the island’s most sacred springs.

The afternoon continues through Ubud’s quieter temples, with plenty of time for lunch overlooking the rice fields and a walk around the royal palace and art market.

Experience story

A morning of holy water and quiet temples

Traditional Balinese pavilions around a temple pond

The spring at Tirta Empul has bubbled up from the ground for more than a thousand years, and Balinese families still come here to pray before ceremonies and important life events.

Your guide brings your offering and sarong, shows you the correct order of the fountains, and stays beside you in the pool. Afterwards you have time to sit by the koi ponds before driving to the cliff-carved shrines of Gunung Kawi.
